Heather Dees - IFBB Figure Competitor
Heather Dees - IFBB Figure Competitor
http://femalefitnessfigurebodybuilders.blogspot.com/

I have been doing a lot of fitness models lately, so here's a lady with some real size to her, IFBB Figure Competitor Heather Dees.
I did a write up on Heather a while back on my other female fitness blog, but hey, she's good enough for two entries right?
While Heather does have some size as I said before, this five foot five, 133 pound fitness beauty also has the sleekness that harkens back to ladies like Cory Everson.

It's hard to get just the right blend, but Heather does it.
Besides being a figure competitor and fitness model, Heather is also a Hair Stylist and Master Esthetician.
And Heather is also married to bodybuilder Justin Dees.
Heather's Female Fitness Competions:
2009 NPC USA Bodybuilding and Figure Championships - 10th
2010 NPC National Bodybuilding, Figure and Bikini Championships - 1st
2010 NPC USA Championships - 5th
2010 NPC Junior National Championships - 6th
2010 NPC California State Bodybuilding, Figure and Bikini Championships - 1st
2010 NPC Top Form Classic - 1st

2011 IFBB Phoenix Pro - 5th
2011 IFBB Europa Super Show, Dallas - 4th

Yes she is an Emergency room physician in Florida.
She got her IFBB pro card at her win at the 2009 NPC Jr. USA Bodybuilding, Fitness, Figure and Bikini Championships.
But Sandi hasn't had an easy road, she suffered a hip injury back in 2007 that almost ended her fitness career.
Sandi is 5'4 and weights 138 pounds normally, but drops down to 128 for contests.

Nora Girones - Female Bodybuilder
Spanish Bodybuilder Nora Girones
Nora Girones went from singing to bodybuilding.
I don't think that's a transition we've had on here before.
Usually it's gymnast or swimmer or something like that.
She appeared on "Popstars", pretty much the Spanish equivalent of "American Idol".

Cory Everson Revisited
This is Corey (Cory) Everson's third appearance on this blog and I think rightly so.
Retiring from competition after winning six consecutive Ms. Olympia titles, Cory tried her hand at acting.
Her first film appearance was in the 1986 movie "The Morning After" as Miss Olympia.
Double Impact in 1991 was her second movie. In that movie, she played Kara, a ruthless, muscular henchwoman to the main badguy.
In 1994, she was in Oliver Stone's Natural Born Killers as the TV Mallory.
She appeared in the 1995 film Ballistic. (Not the 2002 film with Antonio Banderas and Lucy Liu.)
In 1996, she was in the movie Felony as Sondra with B-movie legends (and two of my favorite actors) Jeffrey Combs and Lance Henriksen.
On TV, Cory appeared twice as Katrina Schwenke in The Adventures of Brisco County Jr. (starring another of my favorite actors, Bruce Campbell).
She also appeared in Renegade, Hercules: The Legendary Journeys (three times as Atalanta), Tarzan: The Epic Adventures, Home Improvement and Charmed as the Hulk Paige.
Of course Cory was the original host of the ESPN2 fitness show, BodyShaping that also included Deprise Brescia, Kiana Tom, Jennifer Dempster, Rick Valente, Kendell Hogan, Mary Jean Traetta and Laurie Donnelly.
And for awhile she had her own exercise show on ESPN, Cory Everson's Gotta Sweat.

You can check out her site http://www.coryeverson.com/ that sells fitness equipment and products.

Bodybuilder and Fitness competitor - Sharon Bruneau

Sharon Leigh Bruneau (born February 1, 1964) is a professional Canadian female bodybuilder and fitness competitor.
Sharon, a French-Canadian Métis, was born in the mining city of Timmins, Ontario. She began her career as a fashion model, at which she was successful until contracting a bad case of pneumonia, which caused her to lose a lot of weight.
Soon after her recovery she began training with weights to regain the weight she needed to get back to modeling. After achieving a somewhat toned build, she was rejected at model agencies for being oversized. She then decided to give up modeling and dedicate herself to bodybuilding.
Sharon became one of the most famous women in the sport, leading to frequent photo shoots and several covers for magazines like Muscle & Fitness and Flex.
Sharon retired from bodybuilding competition after the 1994 Ms. Olympia contest, switching to fitness competition. After placing 11th in the 1995 Fitness Olympia, she retired from competition completely.
Currently Bruneau is pursuing an acting career, though she still models for fitness pictorials occasionally. She has had roles in releases such as Tornado Run, Nemesis 2: Nebula, Nemesis III: Prey Harder, and R.S.V.P..

Kim decided to retire from bodybuilding after winning the 1999 Ms. Olympia; she began competing in fitness and figure competitions in 2001.

Figure Competitor - Davana Medina

Full Name: Davana Medina
Birthday: January 28
Place of Birth: Ponce, Puerto Rico
Current state of Residence: Pompton Plains, New Jersey
Occupation: Figure competitor, personal trainer, and fitness model, former dental hygenist.
Marital Status: Married.
Height: 5'7"
Weight (In Season): 128-130 lbs. (Off-Season):138-142 lbs.
Eye Color: Hazel
Hair Color: Brown
Davana Medina is a professional figure competitor from the United States. To Medina is the most successful figure competitor in the short history of the sport, winning the first three Figure Olympia titles to date.
Davana was born on January 28, 1974 in Ponce, Puerto Rico. She entered and won her first figure competition, the NPC Bev Francis Atlantic States, one week after getting married.
With the support of her husband and friends Davana decided to dedicate eight weeks to her first show. She geared her training and dieting to a consistent program to get in the best shape of her life for the show. After winning her first show Davana decided to turn professional. Sadly her marriage did not last.
Davana turned professional after winning the first NPC Figure Nationals in 2001. However, there were no professional figure contests until 2003, so she was forced to take a year off from competition. She has been the most successful woman in figure competition, winning the first three Figure Olympias to date. Davana competes at 5'7" and 130 pounds, and currently lives in Pompton Plains, New Jersey.
Davana says that her biggest inspiration has been her mother, who is very dedicated to everything that she does and taught her to do the same in her life. When the going gets tough, Davana usually relies on her mom to help her get through.
Recently Davana has remarried and was set to compete in the 2006 Ms. Figure Olympia, but due to health problems she was unable to defend her title. This was meant to be her last competition as Medina had stated her desire to retire from competition to start a family with her husband. Her sponsors released a statement through her website saying:
"Davana did not compete at the 2006 IFBB Figure Olympia to defend her title for a 4th consecutive time as a medical issue came up on Monday, September 25 and she was not able to compete. This was supposed to be her last show but she is undecided whether or not she will get back on stage to compete."*
Medina's training consists of simple compound movements with mostly free weights (she rarely uses cable exercises); she also rarely uses machines. She typically trains 6 days a week in the off-season (usually two body parts per day off-season, and only one body part per day on-season).

Fitness Competitor - Kelly Ryan

Kelly Ryan (b. July 10, 1972 in Minneapolis, Minnesota) is a IFBB professional fitness competitor.
Kelly Ryan got an early start in her fitness career when, at age eight, she began to train in gymnastics. This would later serve as a foundation for other athletic activities she would become involved with in high school, such as cheerleading and basketball. After high school Kelly decided to pursue journalism at the University of South Carolina. While studying for her degree in journalism she also worked as a choreographer, which would prove very useful in her decision to become a top fitness athlete. Her first fitness competition was the NPC South Carolina State in 1995, where she placed first.
She would eventually end up winning eight fitness competitions. Her background and presence in fitness contests have made her a familiar face at fitness expositions as well as in fitness magazines.
Married to body builder, Craig Titus.
The couple are awaiting trial in Nevada on charges in the murder of their live-in assistant, Melissa James. James was alleged to have had an affair with Titus. Titus and Ryan are being tried together in the case scheduled to go to court in January of 2007. A prosecutor alleged in open court that Titus was part of a plot to murder three witnesses due to testify in the case. No charges have been filed and Titus’ defense lawyer says he doesn’t think that there is enough evidence for charges in the allegation.
The trial of co-defendant Anthony Gross on arson and accessory to murder charges was separated from the murder trial for Titus and Ryan.

Fitness instructor and competitor - Carol Semple-Marzetta
Carol Semple-Marzetta (born February 23, 1966) is a fitness instructor and competitor. In regional and national competitions, she has won 13 medals.
Carol began gymnastics training at the age of 10. Her dream was to compete in Olympics gymnastics events. However, she was found to have Osgood-Schlatter disease, a childhood condition in which the bones grow faster than the muscles they support. This, along with the financial burden associated with training, ended her dream of Olympic competition. The severe injuries she suffered in an auto accident on May 23, 1983 meant she had to give up gymnastics entirely.
She worked as a fitness instructor at a local spa during her 20s. While training there, she became aware of the Ms. National Fitness competition. After winning first or second place in various contests, in 1999 she made a career out of providing advice on training regimens and dietary supplements. As of August 2004, she manages the fitness and athletics division of Life Measure Labs, a company whose mobile units provide state-of-the-art body-composition and bone-density screening tests.
